A commitment. That’s what this planet needs from you. Model the way. Thats what the next gerneation needs from you.

What if everyone made a commitment to serve his or her neighborhood or church or city in some way each month . . .

Whatever it is, we need everyone to get engaged.

If each adult in our city gave 1 hour per month that would be over 400,000 hours each month and 4.8M hours a year!

Imagine what we could accomplish with that amount of service. Imagine how we could reduce the little problems that our city services teams and servant teams like police have to deal with if we participated more! They could focus on the large issues and start making ground on them.

In my years of service to the neighborhoods of this city, I have found that is not that we do not have the right ordinances in place; it’s that we do not have the manpower to enforce them! Let’s all do our part and make this city remarkable. We won Most Livable City honors a few years ago because of our cost of living and housing. What if we won because of our people and their service to each other?

This is the essence of community. This is our purpose. This is our way.
